ASA Norcal President’s Message for May 2011 – Robert P. Lentz III, ASA

The New USPAP Requirements What are they?

Many of you have already signed up for the one-day or two-day USPAP Seminars that your Chapter has arranged for presentation in San Francisco.  Congratulations if you have already signed up; if not, your time is running short.

My personal thanks to Nancy Stacy, the editor of this Newsletter, who has worked so diligently in securing our nationally recognized speaker, Roger Durkin.

You will read elsewhere in this Newsletter that Roger is an attorney, as well as an Accredited Senior Appraiser in all disciplines.  He is uniquely well qualified to be our instructor.  He is also a very entertaining speaker who can make what some consider a “dry subject” fascinating and appealing.

I have received several calls regarding the recent changes in the ASA’s USPAP requirements, and have attached here the ASA’s Questions and Answers.  This Q&A format should cover any lingering questions you may have regarding who should attend.  You, by attending now, and in San Francisco, would exercise your good judgment in saving two days of travel time, as well as the costs of room and board in a hotel in some distant city.

I look forward to seeing you at one of these presentations, both of which will take place  at L’Olivier on Davis Street in San Francisco, the venue of our monthly Chapter Meetings.

You are also invited to the monthly Board Meeting on Thursday, May 12, beginning at 5:15 p.m., with the wine reception at 6:15 p.m., and dinner at 7:00.  You’ll have a good time,  learn something, get CPE credit, …and be on your way home by 9:00.

‘See you then!

Bob
